25.1.2013 Hunt for the 2014 Millennium Technology Prize is on
Nomination period for the largest technology prize in the world - Millennium Technology Prize – began on 14th of January and will last till 31st of July 2013. Millennium Technology Prize is granted in recognition of technological innovations that contribute to the improved quality of human life and encourage sustainable development. It is designed to encourage further cutting-edge research and development.
FinNode team will be strengthened with a passionate China expert and enthusiast Sari Arho-Havrén. Refering to Sari: “Ever since I started my career in Hong Kong over 20 years ago, China has played a major part in my professional life and become a passion in many ways. I have studied everything from Chinese history to religions, from Chinese minorities to diplomatic relations all the way to PhD. My best friend is Chinese and one of my favourite authors, Qiu Xiaolong, is Chinese by origin. I love Chinese movies too. “
Sari has a broad international work background and she is well networked within Chinese business and academic communities. She is, for example, a board member of Guangdong-Hong Kong International Science Park Alliances Ltd.
Sari moves to Shanghai with her husband and the 8-year old twin daughters.
Sari will follow Jaani Heinonen who’s assignment as the head of FinNode China is ending in June. Jaani will move to the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
