Nomination period for the largest technology prize in the world - Millennium Technology Prize – began on 14th of January and will last till 31st of July 2013. Millennium Technology Prize is granted in recognition of technological innovations that contribute to the improved quality of human life and encourage sustainable development. It is designed to encourage further cutting-edge research and development.
Indian Water Impact Summit 2012 was organized in New Delhi in early December by the European Business and Technology Centre’s (EBTC) and Environment Flagship Mission 2012 (EFM 2012). FinNode gathered together a number of Finnish, Swedish and Indian organizations to a roundtable discussion during the summit to find out how to develop solutions for water related problems in India. he roundtable discussion pointed out that there are many opportunities across the value chain of water for integrated water solutions which could be showcased in the model of a Finnish Water Village.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Academy of Finland (AF) will start collaboration in the areas of chronic NCDs, diabetes and challenges in the health service research through joint workshops and collaborative research projects. The broader aim of the cooperation is to support scientific interaction between India and Finland.
FinNode organized a workshop for the Finnish companies in India on Smart Water Technologies at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi in 15.10.2012. The event evoked a lot of discussion and interaction among the participants.The highlight of the workshop was a brainstorming session during which a numerous of new ideas were generated together. It was very interesting to find out that how much common interests there can be found between all of us on Smart Water. The workshop can be seen as a good starting point for a further collaboration on the field of Smart Water for the Finnish companies in India.
