Smart water
The World Bank reports that 80 countries now have water shortages that threaten health and economies, while 40 percent of the global population have no access to clean water or sanitation. The World Health Organization states: “Globally, the problem is getting worse as cities and populations grow, and the needs for water increase in agriculture, industry and households.”
Finland has developed globally relevant sustainable water management practices, utilizing both smart technologies as well as innovation in the water sector’s business models. On April 20th a futures session will be organized to review water challenges and representative case studies in each of the FinNode countries in order to explore how Finland’s comprehensive water management offering can be utilized for practical solutions.
